Join us for three days of Aikido practice, fun, and fellowship this April 25 – 27th, 2025, as our O-Sensei Memorial Seminar returns with guest instructors David Halprin Shihan (7th Dan, Framingham Aikikai), Dan Palmer Shihan (7th Dan, Asheville Aikikai) and Jo Birdsong Shihan (7th Dan, Aikido of Austin).

This year is a special year as we are also celebrating our 40th anniversary as a dojo. In celebration of this moment, we are not only holding 10 classes in the lineages of both A. Tohei Shihan and M. Kanai Shihan, but also exploring the deep insights of their combined 150 years of Aikido experience.

We hope that you will come and share our practice with us as we honor our past and celebrate this next phase of our dojo and traditions journey.

DESCRIPTION
The Bokken and the Jo teach us different aspects of Aikido that would be very difficult to perceive only with the practice of taijutsu. The word Riai literally means “harmony of principles”. The term used to describe the relationship between hand-to-hand work and weapon practice is “Ken Jo Taijutsu Riai”.
